Welcome to The Good Life!

٩(●̮̮̃•̃)۶

Hello and welcome to our little part of cyberspace! I'm Viki and live with my husband, best friend and personal chef Paul at the top of the Elham Valley! Our friends refer to us as Tom and Barbara, because we're basically trying to live The Good Life! We run a business called Valley Crafts UK selling our own handmade and handpainted thingymabobs on Etsy - www.valleycraftsuk.com

We are owned by two cats and have a random number of chickens - including some of our neighbour's birds which tend to pop by from time to time... Paul can mostly be found in his workshop creating wondrous things out of wood, like chicken arks and cat houses, or in the kitchen making delicious fudge and chutneys. I spend most of my time in the office/craft room where I knit, crochet, attempt to learn to sew, and paint traditional canalia (that's "roses and castles" style painting).

We grow our own veg, brew our own beers and wines, make chutney, eat free-range eggs from our own chickens and are a hybrid of country bumpkins and cool hippies with some boho chic thrown in for good measure.

Happy New Year!

My phone is already failing to send messages, which in this day and age is an issue you’d have thought the phone companies really would have sorted out by now, so I will take this opportunity to wish you an EXTREMELY prosperous 2012, f**k the recession and the government, be nice to your friends and ignore your enemies (they’re just jealous), love your family even when you hate them, don’t go on Twitter just to abuse people - get a hobby like baking (or therapy…), learn something new every day and teach someone something new every day, laugh, dance, be polite, avoid MacDonalds at all costs, avoid Starbucks at all costs, buy local, support independent businesses, shop in charity shops, write a letter, remember you’re never alone even if you think you are, love, realise that winning isn’t everything and there’s no such thing as a loser (except probably where politics is concerned), don’t watch XFactor, protest for the right reasons and keep all protests peaceful: be the peaceful majority not the violent minority, drink tea, drive safely, be courteous, respect your elders, respect youth, help someone who needs it most, brush your teeth twice a day, be kind to animals, live life like everyday is your last… and we might all just have the best year ever :-D HAPPY NEW YEAR!
