Welcome to The Good Life!

٩(●̮̮̃•̃)۶

Hello and welcome to our little part of cyberspace! I'm Viki and live with my husband, best friend and personal chef Paul at the top of the Elham Valley! Our friends refer to us as Tom and Barbara, because we're basically trying to live The Good Life! We run a business called Valley Crafts UK selling our own handmade and handpainted thingymabobs on Etsy - www.valleycraftsuk.com

We are owned by two cats and have a random number of chickens - including some of our neighbour's birds which tend to pop by from time to time... Paul can mostly be found in his workshop creating wondrous things out of wood, like chicken arks and cat houses, or in the kitchen making delicious fudge and chutneys. I spend most of my time in the office/craft room where I knit, crochet, attempt to learn to sew, and paint traditional canalia (that's "roses and castles" style painting).

We grow our own veg, brew our own beers and wines, make chutney, eat free-range eggs from our own chickens and are a hybrid of country bumpkins and cool hippies with some boho chic thrown in for good measure.

How They Should Have Ended Doctor Who Xmas Special…

Paul and I have been ‘Pond’ering (*tumbleweed…*) how Doctor Who should have ended, because I don’t think he should have gone to see Amy and Rory, since he rarely revisited assistants and, let’s face it, he was in love with Rose, so if he was going to visit anyone surely it would have been her? Right? Anyhoo, picture the scene… lots of past assistants and people who have been in Doctor Who throughout the years all around the world would be laying their table for Christmas dinner, and every one of them would be laying a place for the Doctor, showing just how many friends he could have and how many lives he’s touched… Then, the Doctor in the TARDIS eating dinner on his own with a paper hat and a small christmas tree, content if a little sad. Because THAT’S what the Doctor is about. Saying goodbye to people because ultimately he knows they won’t be there forever, but he probably will, and because he believes he has or will let everyone down.

Ok that’s quite detailed, but I think it would have made a better ending… Certainly a bit fuzzier in a way, knowing that all those people still care about him when he thinks he’s failed the human race. So there ;-P
